Wanna tell you a story,
about the carp-fishin' blues....

I come home one Friday,
had to tell the landlady I'd-a lost my job
She said that don't confront me,
long as we go fishin' next Friday.
Now next Friday come I couldn't afford the bait,
and out the door I went.

So I goes to the landlady,
I said, "You let me slide?"
I'll have the bait for you tomorrow
the next day I don't know.
So said let me slide it on you know people,
I notice when I come home in the evening
She ain't got nothing nice to say to me,
but for five year she was so nice
Loh' she was my fishin' buddy.

I come home one particular evening
The landlady said, "You got the bait money yet?",
I said, "No, can't find no job"
Therefore I ain't got no money to get the bait.
She said "I don't believe you're tryin' to find no job"
Said "I seen you today you was standin' on a river bank,
leaning up against a net"
I said "But I'm tired, I've been fishin' all day"...
She said "That don't confront me,
long as I get my bait money next Friday".
Now next Friday come I didn't have money for the bait,
and out the door I went.

So I go down the streets,
down to my good friend's house.
I said "Look man I'm tryin' to go fishin' you know,
can I fish with you maybe a couple days?"
He said "Uh, Let me go and ask my wife".
He come out of the house,
I could see in his face
I know that was no.
He said "I don't know man, ah she don't like fishin', you know".
I said "I know, everybody don't like fishin', now you don't like fishin' too".

So I go back home
I tell the landlady I got a job, I'm gonna get the bait.
She said "Yeah?" I said "Oh yeah"
And then she was so nice,
loh' she was my fishin' buddy.

So I go to my garage, pack up my tackle and I go,
I slip on out the back door and down to the fishin' hole I go.
She a-hollerin' about the carp bait, she'll be lucky to get any chum,
She ain't gonna get none of it.

So I stop in the fishin' hole you know people,
I go to the river, I assemble my rod, I call the baitman
Said "Look man, come down here", he got down there
So what you want?

Some boilees.... and some corn....for my gear.....!!!!!!!!!

Well I ain't been carpin' since I don't know when,
I've been dreamin' 'bout fishin' since before I was ten.
Gonna cast my line man I'm gonna get loose,
Watch my bait land right in front of that goose.
Gonna catch carp don't you have no fear
I want some boilees, and some corn for my gear.

Some boilees.... and some corn....for my gear.....!!!!!!!!

But now I'm sitting at the river bank,
I'm castin',
I'm feelin' mellow
I'm usin' boilees, I'm usin' corn, and I got all my gear.
Looked down the river bank, here come the baitman
I said "Look man, come down here"
So what you want?

Some boilees.... and some corn....for my gear.....!!!!!!!!

No I ain't had a nibble since the night before last,
Gotta get a carp man I've gotta get it fast.
Gonna cast my line out I ain't had enough,
Need me a thirty pounder, not that little rinky dinky stuff.
Gonna get a biggin' won't you listen right here,
I want some boilees, and some corn for my gear.

Now by this time I'm thinking about a lie,
You know when you ain't caught nothing for a while, you're thinkin' about a lie.
Looked down the river bank, I say to my baitman
I said "Look man, come down here", he got down there
So what you want this time?
I said "Look man, a-what time is it?"
He said "The clock on my super glow in the dark techno fishin' pole say three o'clock
Last call for carpin' bait,
so what you need?"

Some boilees.... and some corn....for my gear.....!!!!!!!!

No I ain't seen a carpee since a nigh' and a week,
Gotta catch one before I really start to freak.
Gonna land a big one man listen to me,
One carp ain't enough Jack you better make it three!
I wanna catch a carpee I'm gonna make it real clear,
I want some boilees and some corn for my gear....
