Dog Day Canoe Trip Report
(All time speed record set by Barry)
(Thanks Alibi for the Shuttle Service)
Just posted some of the pics in the Gallery., We had a good trip on Sunday. Many fish were caught and all had a good time.
Here are some of the pictures, although I don't have one of Barry since he set an all time record from Myerstown to Moulton. Perhaps someone said "race" since I only saw him for five minutes after we put in. Ronny and Stacey's dog Gabe probably had the best time, swimming constantly. The smallmouth taken were mostly smaller ones, but a few 1-2 pounders were pulled out. Mike's boys William and Jacob were the most prolific in the fishing department and started catching fish right away. Since Rob was not on the river, I learned a good lesson about bringing benadryl and epinephrine in the med kit (thanks Wes and glad it wasn't a a bee). It's always a good time on the river, especially when there are no ambulances, game wardens or drunks at the end of the trip, Thanks Rob and Paul for the lending of equipment. It was not abused or used underwater this trip!
Ronnie and Stacey have volunteered to make tacos at the Saturday Night Carp Swim on the 16th. I have a line on a camping permit for the park on Saturday so everyone is covered!
I'll post some more pics in the Gallery as I recieve them (HINT: send em to me!)
I was moved by this display and yet curious. I approached the gentleman and remarked that he must have known the deceased quite well to have possibly lost the opportunity to hook and land the large fish he had raised. He replied "Yes, and if she had lived until next Tuesday, we would have been married 53 years.
