Well it's getting toward the end of the season so it was a good time to get in as much fishing and fellowship as possible before everyone is locked up in their cabins come February wishing that it was still warm and they could go fishing again.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful day of fishing and friends. One of the highlights to cap the day off was Dawn catching "the biggest fish she has ever pulled out of the river."  Way to go Dawn, a great catch for your first night on the river at the Infamous Carp'n Hole. You get the biggest carp of the night award. Which, by the way, just consists of me saying, "You get the biggest carp of the night award."

I had fished the night before and had great hopes for smallmouth...

...but alas it was really sunny and clear and the smallmouth bite was slow. Oatmeal Jack and Kennedy (on his first float with us and infamous for his role in the They Come Running Video ) joined in with Jack's new Double Red Banana fishing machine.  Kennedy, thanks for not screaming "step on his head"  in a girly voice like your dad is accustomed to doing whenever something is caught. Alibi Rob, Todd, and myself had the kayaks pushing down the river for smallmouth. On the menu was the possibility for ducks and geese along with smallmouth.  Well we didn't get any ducks or geese but Alibi got to make some noise with his "kayak punt gun" (see the Gallery or pic below). Rest assured that there was the possibility for some really large smallies as this catch can attest to. Yes and guess what I caught him on?(Yamo Hula Grub - Champagne)

The day rounded out at the carp'n hole that Jack and I baited up with some particularly fragrant chum the night before.  Before long the bite alarms were screaming and Dawn and Kim were soon reeling in personal bests one after the other.
