Just back from vacation with Alibi and had to get this picture up. Because of the weather We had to run from Sneads Ferry and Beach fishing to PFP. While the Bass fishing was good this was an Unexpected Surprise! I have Never seen a 16 Inch Crappie and the Trophy that sits on the table of Hooktats cabin is 12 inches. Yes I measured as soon as I got back.
Gary Yamamoto stopped producing the Champagne Colored Hula Grub I am so fond of using. Add this little baby to the personal best list of Yamo-Hula-Grub CHAMPAGNE colored PB's that I have with this bait. Dear Gary Yamamoto I'll take another 1000 of these!
Reminds me of the crappie I used to get at Loch raven Resevoir in Baltimore when I was a kid. Thats how long its been since I seriously went after specks...you got a nice one there!

PFP has always been an excellent crappie hole.
(excellent crappie - is that an oxymoron?)
Anyway, that's a nice one John! The locals have been telling me that the crappie have grown up there recently. Glad you could find out first hand.
My best catch is one the size of hubcap, from the biggest pond in Clarke County.
