Like I'm going to catch a 5lb Largmouth while taking a Veteran Carp fisherman out and talking of the finer points of SmallMouth Fishing and not place it on the Front Page. Yeah Right! Being a good sport Jack did take a picture of it and send it to me. I gotta say I've never pulled a Largemouth out of the Shen. So here is the sequence of events....
ME: "yeah Jack you gotta use one of these here 'hula grubs' in this color..and bounce it like this"
JACK: ..."sure I'm OK...I got this smallmouth thing all figured out"
ME: "OK but I'm telling you....WHAM.......HEY GUYS GET THE CAMERA OUT!"
JACK: "Err...Umm..John, Got any more of those 'hula grubs'?" [...continued]
Jack has showed me up on more than one occasion while carp fishing, so I consider it was about time the tables turned. Now Jack did catch some Smallmouth and I have proof - All the Pontoon Smallmouth trip pictures are in the Gallery . ( Alibi Rob has some Video and I'll Post that up as soon as I can.)
A must see in the Photos is Alibi's new "River Assault Boat" it's rigged up and ready for any event that transpires. If you take a look at the Gun Mount on the front... It looks like a ver version of an old fashioned "Punt Gun"used to hunt waterfowl back in the day. I asked Alibi about this and this and it is the new test platform prior to mounting a "Quad 12ga Full Auto Tripod System" on his recently camouflaged kayak. This does not bode well for the local goose population. In my humble opinion it bodes even worse for the local "Personal Water Craft" jetski population. So if you know any Jetski owners that frequent the Shen you might want to tell them that there is a potential danger of Instantaneous Lead Poisoning when operating in the vicinity of Alibi.

Someone must have said something prior to our trip because there were absolutely no people on the river. This made for quite and enjoyable trip. Jack got to try out his new Pontoon boat which he has equipped nicely. It's a twin motor design and you can see both motors in the pictures. He has a small electric on the back and slightly forward you can see his primary motor. Just so you know, her name is Toni and she is Jack's better half. I believe Toni had a good time too, even though she was relegated to placing her husband on top of small mouth.This was a good trip with lots of smallmouth were taken. Doubly so since:
a.) No one Flipped their boat or spouse over
b.) Everyone had all pertinent Licensing
c.) There was not a Rescue Crew or Police presence at the Take Out.
d.) No one was stung by a "Bee".
e.) Alibi did not have to use his "Cabela's Suture Kit"
f.) No Personal Watercraft Owners were harmed in the making of this trip!
